Can You Answer These 3 Questions in 30 Seconds? If Not, You Have a Problem.

The Core Framework

Most business owners can describe what they do. Far fewer can explain why it matters – and almost none can do it in a way that makes someone lean in.

Ready? Clock’s running. Three questions. Thirty seconds. Go.

Question 1 – Direction: Where is your business going and why does it matter? Not just what you sell or what service you provide. Where are you taking your customers, and what does success look like for them when they work with you?

Question 2 – Differentiation: Why should someone choose you over every other option available to them today? Not because you’re cheaper. Not because you’re nearby. Because something about the way you think and work and deliver is genuinely different – and better for the right person.

Question 3 – Dialogue: How are you building real relationships – not just transactions – with the people who matter most to your business? What do you know about your best customers that your competitors don’t?

Here’s the thing: these aren’t marketing questions. They’re business questions. They’re the foundation on which everything else – your pricing, your content, your customer experience, your team culture – is built.

If your answers were vague, generic, or if you found yourself describing what you do rather than why it matters, that’s completely normal. And it’s completely fixable. But it requires you to stop and think – really think – about what your business stands for and where it’s going.

The 3D framework isn’t complicated. But most businesses never go through it deliberately. They get busy. They react. They work in the business instead of on it. And the questions pile up unanswered.

Start with the questions. The answers are where the business changes.
